Life as a frontline medic

Duration:

1.5 hours

About the lecture

Rick’s new documentary is about medical volunteers in Ukraine. Who are these volunteers, and what do they go through while working in a war zone? To answer these questions, Rick decided the best way to capture their story was to become a medical volunteer himself.

As an independent journalist and filmmaker, Rick went to Ukraine, trained as a medic, and personally transported over 150 wounded soldiers to gain deeper insight into this environment.

Now he shares his experiences in an original lecture, explaining what it is like to work in a war zone as a volunteer — all while constantly looking for the next shot for the documentary. His film is now finished and will be published soon.
