The Altai Ultimate Test: Western Mongolia Expedition
Sub-Zero Extremes. Self-Navigation

A solo-expedition through rural Mongolia makes sure of one promise: You don't go home the same.

If you navigate the open stretches of a vast wilderness with you own pack animals life hits differently. Even with little experience, during the planning phase we make sure you will not be in over your head.

Expedition Planning

Planning & Preparation

Going on an expedition demands thorough preparation. The logistics are meticulous and require sufficient time allocation—a resource most professionals simply do not have. Even though your free to navigate your own route, it takes extensive planning to map natural obstacles, water sources, places of safety and to build realistic contingency plans.

Prior to my own three-month solo expedition, I spent a month and a half on research—learning about local flora and fauna, climate variations, and seasonal changes. Through logistical analysis, I prepared my gear and repacked it multiple times to meet the specific needs of my expectations. Physically I was strong and already had extended outdoor experience for the circumstances I would find myself in.

Not everyone goes on an expedition with the same skill set or personal goals. These aspects, along with physical and mental preparation, must be taken into account.

The Planning Service

As your planner, I offer a full package tailored to your level of expertise, demands, and wishes. This allows you to continue your busy life, resting assured that your expedition will be thoroughly planned. The whole research will be discussed with you and offered to you in your own professional expedition book. During this process, we will hold regular meetings to discuss the progress.

The planning phase also includes a parallel investment where we focus on getting physically prepared and gaining relevant experience. This can be done by externally or through additional services provided by me.

Service Overview

A solo expedition is one of the most transformative ways of travel. Since you have obligations and people depend on you, I offer services beyond the planning of your solo expedition.

  • The Planning: As discussed before; I relieve you of the burdens of planning the entire expedition.

  • Advice: Assessing medical state and physical state is essential and needs to be done by professionals. After that assessment I can provide a program that prepares you for your adventure.

  • Courses: Upon request I can provide training in navigation, outdoor training, and self relience. This service is only available additional to the planning service.

  • Security: Upon request, we can discuss my presence in-country to provide monitoring services, emergency aid, evacuations, and mental support (this does not include acting as an expedition leader).

  • Personal Development: Upon request my ReSeT training can be implemented into the expedition, turning the journey into a life-changing chapter.

ReSeT Training

Implementing the ReSeT training to your expedition gives room for enormous growth. The ReSeT training teaches to self-observe, become more aware of your own interpretations, reactions, and emotions, It teaches to silence judgment and critique. Combined with practical training in controlling our thinking and learning what happens inside, we invest in deeper reflections. You will learn how you perceive the world and how it influences your outlooks. The climax are redefined goals formulated by yourself.

Doing the ReSeT training during a solo expedition trancends every aspect of self-exploration.

Are You Ready to Extend Your Edges Somewhere Else?

My services are not limited to Mongolia. Through lived experience and professional doctrine, I can implement my expedition planning for every corner of the world, providing completely honest advice. Where external parties are required or needed, this will be mentioned during the progress meetings.
